I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Poretsky lab at the University of Illinois Chicago. My main current projects are:

  1. Expanding the utility of sequence-based WBE approaches for surveillence of multiple targets, including viruses and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs)
    • My poster from ASM Microbe 2025, Improving the Signal-to-Noise Ratio of Metagenomic Wastewater Surveillance for Human Pathogens and ARGs, examines the use of probe hybridization panels in combination with membrane filtration and concentration with Ceres Nanotrap Microbiome Particles.
  2. Using wastewater samples spanning from 2021 to the present to study patterns in the transmission and evolution of SARS-CoV-2 throughout the state of Illinois.
