I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Poretsky lab at the University of Illinois Chicago. My main current projects are:
- Expanding the utility of sequence-based WBE approaches for surveillence of multiple targets, including viruses and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs)
- My poster from ASM Microbe 2025, Improving the Signal-to-Noise Ratio of Metagenomic Wastewater Surveillance for Human Pathogens and ARGs, examines the use of probe hybridization panels in combination with membrane filtration and concentration with Ceres Nanotrap Microbiome Particles.
- Using wastewater samples spanning from 2021 to the present to study patterns in the transmission and evolution of SARS-CoV-2 throughout the state of Illinois.
